i extracted my upper left wisdom tooth yesterday.
despite all the horror stories i've heard from my friends, i felt rather light-hearted as i walked into the dentist's room.
i was kind of prepared to go through a 30-45 minutes long battle - between the dentist and my tooth.
i closed my eyes during the crucial parts of injecting and tugging, refused to look at the tools he was using and kept telling myself, "the worst has yet to come"...
so imagine my shock when the dentist's assistant told me, "okay we're done!" FIFTEEN MINUTES later!
hahahaha there was no drilling, no insane pulling, no huge pliers inserted into my mouth, no stitching.
the only part that hurt the most was the anesthetic injection, which felt somewhat similar to the sharp pain you feel when the tail of a fried ikan bilis get stuck in your gums all of a sudden as you're enjoying your nasi lemak lunch.
i was kind of glad it was over so soon and painlessly until i woke up this morning.
the soreness at the back of my mouth, very near my left cheekbone, made it impossible for me to smile or even open my mouth.
all i can put into my mouth for lunch was plain porridge, which had to be mixed with cold water by the way.
i can already imagine myself having porridge for every meal, probably for the next 3 days... oh my.
the only thing impossible to get mad at:
