when i was younger, i believed that true love is when you're willing to die for that person.
as in the case where he/she asks you to jump off a building to prove your sincerity, and you'd do it.
and relationships should begin with the intention of marriage at the end.
but as i got older, my opinions changed.
i thought that relationships are merely a phase - a form of companionship through a certain period of your life, before it fades into memory as you move on. yourself.
my attitude towards 'boyfriends' and 'relationships' became more like 'trial and error' - you try this one out, doesnt work, get another one.
which is why i was usually nonchalant about such affairs whenever friends tell me about theirs.
i didnt understand their heartfelt emotions and would think they're dramatizing their feelings.
it was always easy to dispense advice from a third person point of view because there were no strings attached. easier said than done what. lol
i used to tell people my previous relationships were all crap because of foolish decisions i made on impulse.
i still think they are, but then you have to meet a few wrongs to know what's right when it comes along right?
now i know why my friends were worried when their bfs got too close to girls, why they were protective/possessive to an extent and why they'd blow their friends out just to meet their guy.
(ps: sorry wormie!)
for the first 3 quarters of 2006, life was pretty mundane.
the best part was getting into ntu, and the worst was being alone in school most of the time.
but new friendships were forged, not-so-new friendships strengthened(my girlies and vic!), and old friendships rebuilt. (daphneee. hehhee)
in 2006, i also made the worst mistake of my life by starting something that never should have.
something i'd gladly erase from my mental faculty if i could, and if not, i wish i could turn back time instead.
shouldnt have replied that anonymous sms, should have heeded my friends' advice. oh well.
and the best part of 2006 is probably the decision i made on impulse on the "14th" of November.
i watched 'How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days', but i think i lived 'How to Snag a Guy in 8 Days'. LOL
we're opposites who share uncanny similarities that get quite spooky sometimes... i'll elaborate next time. =D
hehhehehe so all in all, it's been a wonderful year!
and im looking forward to 2007 already!
weeeee!!
ps. lh/hk/cy/pl: when are you guys free to visit dear huiyu at her place? we can have steamboat or something... tag meee! =)

didnt feel much of the festive xmas season this year, probably because im too broke to shop and there're sooo many year-end sales going on! ughh. i think im at the poorest point of my life. but its okay because a poor woman can still be a happy woman! =)the past 3 days were pretty eventful, and i learnt an all-important lesson right before the eve of christmas. my nice little friend, huiyu broke her left arm when she fell off a bicycle and everything that happened after that fall on that fateful day seemed to whiz past. i was there with her for almost 5 hours - and i have to say that she's one of the bravest friend i've ever had. the tears she shed werent because of the excruciating pain or fear she felt, but because she was afraid of worrying her parents.that night, thoughts of everything that happened before the incident flooded my mind. it seems that there were so many signs that forewarned us of what was coming, but we went ahead with our plans anyway.if you ask me, i think she definitely doesnt deserve such a painful experience at all.but i guess it's all predestined.and as linhui always says, everything happens for a reason.so dear huiyu, if you're reading this, i hope you're feeling better by now and that you realised how much the people around you loves you okay?i probably wasnt of much help at the clinic and hospital, but then again, there was nowhere else i'd rather be at that point of time than to be with you. =)ask us out when you're much better okay!----on a lighter note!christmas this year didnt feel christmasy at all, but it was wonderful all the same. heeahh am too lazy to go into details, but whatever it is, i think my life's complete! (besides the lack of $$ to spendddd)2007's coming in 5 days!i'd wanted to reflect on 2006 but im too lazy to do it now.probably do it tomoro lah. hahahhaschool's starting in about 2 weeks' time!half anticipating, half dreading. ahhhaiyahh too lazy to upload photos also.TOMORROW. haha! =D

| Your Heart Is Orange |
Love equals unbridled happiness for you. You enjoy the wild ride of falling in love. And while the ride is fun for a while, you always get off once the thrill is gone.
Your flirting style: Hyper
Your lucky first date: Anything you need your passport for!
Your dream lover: Is both daring and well grounded
What you bring to relationships: Energy |
and another one.. hehhehehe
| You're Totally Sarcastic |
You sarcastic? Never! You're as sweet as a baby bunny. Seriously, though, you have a sharp tongue - and you aren't afraid to use it. And if people are too wimpy to deal with your attitutde, then too bad. So sad. |

i'm backkkkkkkkk but im sickkkkkkk. omg
down with stomach flu - i can hear my stomach rumbling even as im typing =S
had fever yesterday and all i had was half a ham and cheese toast!
i misss katsu donsss and cold sobaaaa! hahahhaaha
yayy had a wonderful time in japan!
aiyahh havent had the time to edit my photos to upload them yet - i'd probably do them tmr. heh
and yesssss JAPANESE ARE GOOD-LOOKING PEOPLE.
even the young road sweeper and the disneyland garbageman are handsome lehh.
and 70% of the city girls look like they walked straight out of jap magazines!
you dont see dry frizzy unkempt hair there, its all beautiful curls, pretty dyes and well-maintained manes!
even the 30-40s obasans are DAMN HIP.
they were skinny jeans, boots, coats and carry LV bags okay.
and the students! omg they're just like what you see on tv.
they look really good in uniform! funky hair, cool makeup, and mini skirts!
definitely no ah-bengs with untucked shirts and baggy pants.
all you see is gravity-defying coloured hair and slightly more unruly actions - but they're still polite and wear their uniform with pride and more importantly, very SHUAI! hehhehehehe
ahh talking abt manners, their culture is impressive!
on the trains, you dont see signs that warn you against eating/drinking/durians/smoking lest you want a FINE but instead, there are small notices that read "Please switch your mobile phones to silent mode and refrain from talking on the phone." -- READ: 'PLEASE' and 'REFRAIN'. not our way of "STRICTLY NO blahblah".
and in the less-urbanised areas like osaka, if you knock into a japanese, you dont hear 'tsk!' or receive a glare but instead hear a flustered 'gomenasai!' or 'sumimasen!'
and if you smile at a random passer-by, they wont stare at you like you're mad or look away immediately, but will smile back courteously!
and occassionally, strangers do greet you 'ohaiyo gozaimasu' too!
and like in disneyland where everyone(inc. japanese) are in a mad frenzy of taking photos of EVERYTHING, there was once i almost walked into a would-be photograph of goofy.
i took a step back and intended to wait - but the CHILD, probably 8-10yrs old, actually held out his hand and said 'douzo!' (please). wahhhhhhhhh i was damn impressed with his upbringing!
ohhh and you dont smell cigarrete smoke on the streets.
they dont have the habit of lighting up as they walk but instead would stay in the designated 'smoking area' and walk only after they've finished!
ohh and rubbish bins are quite a scarcity there - you have to walk a long distance before spotting 3 bins (glass, plastic, papers) which means you'll have to hold onto your junk for quite a while but surprisingly, the streets are cleaner than what we have at orchard road!
ooh and because its winter time now, the sky is pitch black by 3pm. so most shops close at 7pm. but the sun rises at 4am i heard!
according to the tour guide, japanese are so driven at work that they're quite stressed out and every monday morning someone will surely commit suicide by jumping onto a railway track!
and their culture of punctuality is awesome - they have
specific arrival timing for trains, bullet trains and even BUSES. and in cases when they're delayed, they'll apologise through public announcement at the respective stations, or even make a public apology on the papers the next day!
and they're really particular abt appearances.
the people dress well, food/products are packaged beautifully, places kept clean.
okay i'll be back with photos and more descriptions!
japan rocks! -- highly recommended holiday destination for ALL. =D
