i'm officially broke. =
to think my new year resolution #1 was to exercise thrift!
but then #2, 3 and 4 wasnt adhered to also lah.
omg im so bad at this.

----

what if you find out someone(you abhor) is wasting his life because of you?
proud, or guilty?
----

im so bogged down by the tremendous reading load that i have.
which makes me wanna procrastinate even more.
thank goodness i have dd around me all the time to motivate me. haha!
----

read about TW actress hsu wei lun's fatal car accident today.
a fine lady she was - tall, slender, pretty and, i just found out today, talented and intelligent too.
what a pity that she passed on so young.
but like my parents said, it's all fate..

which makes me wonder - what if one of the times im mindlessly jaywalking and something like that happen to me too?
ahh i'd probably die with regrets cos i've been taking too much for granted..

too much randomness makes my brain swell.
i need more money to calm me down. LOL

lhwong WHERE IS MY PASTAMANIA CARD!!!! hehhehehe=D

Life's pretty much all about school these days.
Thankfully my modules this semester are pretty interesting - languages, cultures, identity, economy etc.
they really opened my mind to a lot of matters that never bothered me before.

And I'm beginning to enjoy Sociology!
I think Sociology usually comes across to people as 'a study of the society'.
It's not The Society per se, but largely also concerns the individual.
has anyone come across this credit card advert with a catchy phrase that says "Nothing is more personal than shopping."? lol
Shopping is more social than personal!
how can shopping be personal when what you're purchasing really is 1 in a million of the mass-produced goods?
and when you shop, it really isn't all about you.
you're trying to construct an image FOR the others, no?
for example, when you splurge on that pair of lovely shoes and that makes you feel happy, it's because you're anticipating others' compliments on how pretty they are.
on the other hand, there are people who claims that they pamper themselves with material goods not for the compliments, but because they FEEL good.
and why'd you feel good?
cos you think you look pretty to the world. and again, there IS the existence of The Others.

which brings me to another point.
there's a particular faculty in ntu which i started to stereotype negatively only recently.
the thing is, they'd dress fancifully in a particular way that just SCREAMS for attention and when you DO take a couple more looks in their direction, they'd stare back at you with the look that says "Whaddya lookin' at?"

duh.
if you dont like people scrutinising you, then dont dress in that fashion lahh!
common sense what.

that said, its not that i disapprove of people who dress up for school.
personally, i do make the effort to look presentable(and perhaps, good) in the mornings before i head out too.
i developed a habit of observing people's way of dressing (it's something that comes naturally when you're swarmed with a myriad of colours everyday) and i do appreciate those who put light makeup and dress semi-formalcasually.
but there are these people, who'd wear clothes that just makes you want to stare la.
there're the barelycoveringbutt shorts, attentiongrabbing belts, plunging necklines, killer heels...
but i gotta say, kudos to them for the amount of time and effort they put in assembling their outfits everyday! *claps*

i feel so bitchy suddenly. hahaha
not that i wanna bitch about them lah, the way they choose to dress is really up to them.
but then there's nothing else to talk about already ma.
----
comm. class today was more like a pep talk session.

what do you imagine yourself to be like 5 , 10 and 20 years from now?
we were encouraged to have a vivid visualization, which i do.
but it's always easier to build dreams than to fulfil it.
BUT there is this Social Construction of Reality theory - "If men define situations as real, they are real in their consequences."

Thomas proposed that what you think will effectively become reality.
so i shall take heed, and think more. =)

Sociology rocks my socks! weeeeeeeee!

another week has gone by.

not only am i bad at time management, im equally terrible with anger too.
if only i could trade my temper for a little more intelligence.

nothing much has happened lately.
or maybe too much happened that my mind cant quite register which incidents to blog abt now.

i seriously need to seek help for my shopaholism.
or perhaps get a personal assistant to manage my finances!
hoho not that i have much assets to talk abt lah.
i just need to stop shopping online! =
and i miss my girls very much.
vljy u better meet me soon or i'll officially declare that you're MIA! <3

the strength when you're terrified.
the passivity when you're enraged.
the hope when you're despondent.
the warmth when you're lonely.
the light when you're lost -
i think its love.

it isnt so much about what you say, its how you say it.

finally the rain gave way for sunshine today.
but weatherman says the skies wont clear until the end of january!
the last i heard on channel news asia, it was reported that the weather will change for the better end of december...
ughhh i seriously need to get plastic boots before my lovely white pumps get drowned in the mudpools and never see daylight again.

my horoscope for February: "Anyone knows better than to fence Sagittarius in. But there are times when you should quash your own need for freedom and consider the needs of those you care about. Slow down. Let your own plans germinate for now."

accurate or sheer coincidental?
but what if its 2 sagittarius we're talking about?
aiyahhhhhhhhhhhh. =

somehow im feeling funny.
you know the kind of feeling you get when you cant remember how painful a severe stomachache you had a few hours ago was?
or.. how cold you'd felt when you got drenched in the rain after a hot shower?
thats how im feeling - like i've forgotten a particular feeling i've felt previously.
or maybe its just pms at work. ughhh

never expected the transition to be so subtle; i'd thought there'd be a distinction of some sort.
there was no on/off switch - more like it faded into a blur..
-

my timetable has been confirmed!
no more long weekends (though my fridays end at 2pm), i didnt get business law (didnt even get to see a single vacancy i can squeeze my butt into loh), and i dropped Popular Culture.
im doing Fundamentals to Communication Studies instead.
haha drastic change from what i initially planned.
free fridays will probably be spent sleeping in till 1pm and then shuffling around the house doing nothing anyway.
and now my average dismissal time is 3.30pm!
-

which is better -
"your parents strongly object a relationship in which you firmly believe the other party is the guy you'd wanna spend the rest of your life with" or
"your parents betroth you to a guy you cant imagine yourself spending the rest of your life with"?

if i were to choose, i think the second option is better.
because if my parents fiercely believes that that guy is good for me, he must be financially stable so i'd marry him first, plot a flawless murder and carry it out, inherit his assets then elope with the love of my life.

on a serious note, if i were to be stuck in the first situation, i'd honestly be at my wits end.
my parents raised me up to be who i am today, and going against their wishes (in which they THINK its for MY sake) sounds like an unforgivable sin.
but then again, if the basis of their 'judgement' is pure prejudice and silly-ness i dont think its fair to ME if i have to give up the man(or boy) i love. right? right.

soo... my heart goes out to you.
you dont have to see the light at the end of the tunnel to carry on walking - its the journey that counts. =)
otherwise, there is no need for courtship/relationships in the world already what - just profess your love for each other then get married and have kids loh. (if thats the "light" he's talking about.)
so do persevere and lets hope Guan Yin/Dua Pek Gong will help your dad gain enlightenment on this okay?
if the burden on your shoulders is too heavy to bear alone, i'll be here to share the load! =D
-

i need a haircut, some optimism and lots of faith.

"the early bird might get the worm, but the second mouse will get the cheese." ;)

im going back to school in less than 48hours!
bought a pretty pink file and several coloured markers.. im all revved up for the new semester!
but my timetable's not even confirmed yet =\
if all goes well, i'll be taking business law and CONSUMER CULTURE! (read: SHOPPINGGGG)
hahhahha actually its more of consumer behaviour and whatnots, but its still related to SHOPPING so im feeling good. hohoho

school starts at 10.30am almost everyday, and ends around 5.30pm.
fridays are free so its gonna be longgg weekends for me! weehoooo

but im already dreading the 1hr20mins travelling time and staircases leh.
i've got quite a number of breaks between classes this time round too - i hate hanging around alone in school. =\

but its okay cos it'll be just one more semester before wormie wong joins me and dd in ulu boonlay!
and i really hope huiyu will make it in time for this yr's NIE intake too.. so the 3 of us can bunk together and rock ntu down! wahahhahaha =D=D
--

was flipping through travel guides at borders last thursday and i was enthralled by the pictures of barcelona, venice, paris and switzerland.
there're soo many beautiful scenery/people/architectures out there that i wanna visit!

but then even if i were to start travelling the world tomorrow, there's a high possibility that i wont be able to visit every single place on earth before i die!
or even if i lived long enough to have the time to do that, i'd probably starve to death on the streets of rome before my time. =\
ahhhh howwww.

and i dont understand why some people just cant get that buttcracks really arent the same as cleavages.
while cleavages MIGHT attract envious/lusty looks, buttcracks really TURN PEOPLE WAY OFF lah!
esp. when you're at a coffeeshop/restaurant/cafe! =S
was having dinner at a coffeeshop with my dad just now and while stuffing my mouth with chicken rice, i had to face this hideous crack that belongs to an oversized girl.
disgusting lehh.
made me wanna pour ice water down that drain just to see her reaction. ugh

sidetrack: my bro once referred to it as 'The Death Valley: No 1 Ant can come out ALIVE." hahhaha!

sidetrack's sidetrack: sighh he's leaving for aussie in a yr's time for 2 years. =(

my home's having a makeover.
just in time for CNY! woohoo!

i'm so addicted to my new blogskin that everytime i look at it, i get the urge to post a new entry! hehehhe

i need more timeeeee!
7 days a week is not enough - i dont have enough days in a week to meet up with the people i want to catch up with!
i feel terribly guilty for always saying "meetupmeetup" and then failing to do so.

so my dearest leong/chinn, huikeng/huiyu, and victhesiaocharbor......
MEET UP SOON K! hahahhahaha =D

--

a tiny episode happened today.

it was merely a slipofthetongue but random thoughts crossed my mind like nobody's business and i couldnt even put my finger on which emotion was it that made me lose my appetite for my delicious BK grilled chicken burger and favourite onion rings.
i was uncertain if i was more fedup with myself than him so i decided not to say anything at all although he knew something was wrong.
apparently it made things worse because my frustration transformed into tears instead. and i think i scared the sunshine out of him. lol

i'd wanted so much to voice out so we can talk abt it face-to-face where tones wont be misunderstood and facial expressions wont be missed.
but there were too much going on in my mind - with every thought that surfaced, the next one that appeared will contradict the previous one so i just couldnt say anything cos i didnt know where to start. =
and so we still didnt get to talk it out in the end, but thankfully a hug can replace a million words anytime so the night ended well and all is good. =)
--

was chatting with a 10 year old friend last night and she told me about the love of her life.

she said, in him she saw perfection in his imperfection.
and she had the feeling that she was going crazy over him.
and she felt happiness everyday just because he's part of her life.
and whenever she talked abt him she'd smile unknowingly, because it was a smile from her heart.

and then she asked me if i've ever met such a guy.
and i told her i just did. =)

i've never been someone known for keeping to her goals, but i'm still gonna try making some new year resolutions this year! hehh

lets see.
#1 cultivate the practice of thrift. i wanna see my account balance GROW!

but im not ready to give up my favourite past time yet.. so i shall
#2 exercise self-control. spending within my limits would be an improvement! this also applies to the stuff i put into my mouth!

which brings me to my third resolution of the year.
#3 lose weight before Chinese New Year! RAHHHH.

#4 its almost impossible to wish that i'd stop procrastinating so i'll aim for consistency in terms of schoolwork instead! now i see the importance of decimal points. =S

hmmmm 2007 sounds like a nice number so lets hope i'll keep to my resolutions!
yayy Chinese New Year is coming - good enough reason to SHOPSHOPSHOP!! =D
