im so excited about christmas eve!my brother had suggested that we have dinner at home on christmas eve, so we can avoid the crowds everywhere else. so we're all staying home and having a pot-luck dinner!my brother is going to cook (that's what he said) - macaroni & cheese + mashed potatoesmy mum will make pork chop! (and buy a log cake)i think im gonna bake cupcakes and make turkey ham salad! sound extremely christmas-sy right! hohoho!DID YOU KNOW...- my mum used to buy christmas socks for my brother and i, and she'll pin them up on the window grills a few days before christmas. we'd wake up on christmas day to find a present stuffed in it! - my entire paternal family used to have christmas parties, where all the adults will buy presents for all the children! they arent conveniently-bought presents where everyone gets the same thing - they actually took the effort to buy different presents specially for each of us, and would label the presents with our names!- my family used to put up a christmas tree, probably 2 weeks before christmas. my brother, mum and i will spend time decorating the tree with balls, lights and that sparkling gold furry thing. then my dad will put up the star ceremoniously on one of the night and light up the tree! hahahahalast night a horrible thought struck me. it was probably due to exam stress, but it sure scared the hell out of mesighh there's a reason why every kid doesnt want to grow up i guess.
OOO and watch Mr. Magorium's Magic Emporium.
ITS MAGICAL, ITS HEARTWARMING, IT MAKES YOU SMILE. =)

what's worse - being told you care too much or don't care at all?
how i wish i could skip the coming week and jump straight into christmas.
the world should make it immoral to attend work/school in december.

the past week hasnt been too good - mainly because it's the first time in my life im studying in the december!
and it doesnt help that my current module is so dry, with a weirdo lecturer to boot.
and the 2 friends i used to sit through lectures with - ros and sundhus - have graduated so now i sit alone most of the time.
and im working with a bunch of people whom im not really used to, for a project.
and i've got a 2000-word essay due on monday - which has a weightage of 30%. =(
oo but ros and sundhus dropped by in school today for a surprise visit!
i've known them for only 3 months and we rarely communicate much about our private lives - but it felt soooo good to see them again!
we hugged each other like we were old friends, separated for a long time and then reunited.
funnily, i didnt realise how much i missed them.
we talked about meeting up soon for dinner, and it suddenly occurred to me that life is moving so fast that people are barely catching up with each other.
i miss so many people in my life - but i just havent got the luxury of time to meet up with them... sigh.

jingle bells, jingle bells
christmas is coming!
on the way home today, i saw 3 ang mohs wearing festive hairbands!
they were 3 grown men, mind you, and they each wore a different design - i think there were christmas trees, reindeer ears or something like that - and they alighted at Orchard mrt station!
so cute!
im thinking that by this time of the year, western countries should be very high in festive spirits already and it must be very warm and cheery!
ahhh how i wish singapore has four seasons too - so we can dress to the occasion and wear knee-length boots without looking like ah lians! hahahhaa
btw, if you'd like to have a feel of the christmas-sy spirit, watch Fred Claus!
im not sure if its still screening in the cinemas, but i think it's a very good movie that will have you feeling warm and fuzzy during and after the show! =)
