i'm backkkkkkkkk but im sickkkkkkk. omg
down with stomach flu - i can hear my stomach rumbling even as im typing =S
had fever yesterday and all i had was half a ham and cheese toast!
i misss katsu donsss and cold sobaaaa! hahahhaaha
yayy had a wonderful time in japan!
aiyahh havent had the time to edit my photos to upload them yet - i'd probably do them tmr. heh
and yesssss JAPANESE ARE GOOD-LOOKING PEOPLE.
even the young road sweeper and the disneyland garbageman are handsome lehh.
and 70% of the city girls look like they walked straight out of jap magazines!
you dont see dry frizzy unkempt hair there, its all beautiful curls, pretty dyes and well-maintained manes!
even the 30-40s obasans are DAMN HIP.
they were skinny jeans, boots, coats and carry LV bags okay.
and the students! omg they're just like what you see on tv.
they look really good in uniform! funky hair, cool makeup, and mini skirts!
definitely no ah-bengs with untucked shirts and baggy pants.
all you see is gravity-defying coloured hair and slightly more unruly actions - but they're still polite and wear their uniform with pride and more importantly, very SHUAI! hehhehehehe
ahh talking abt manners, their culture is impressive!
on the trains, you dont see signs that warn you against eating/drinking/durians/smoking lest you want a FINE but instead, there are small notices that read "Please switch your mobile phones to silent mode and refrain from talking on the phone." -- READ: 'PLEASE' and 'REFRAIN'. not our way of "STRICTLY NO blahblah".
and in the less-urbanised areas like osaka, if you knock into a japanese, you dont hear 'tsk!' or receive a glare but instead hear a flustered 'gomenasai!' or 'sumimasen!'
and if you smile at a random passer-by, they wont stare at you like you're mad or look away immediately, but will smile back courteously!
and occassionally, strangers do greet you 'ohaiyo gozaimasu' too!
and like in disneyland where everyone(inc. japanese) are in a mad frenzy of taking photos of EVERYTHING, there was once i almost walked into a would-be photograph of goofy.
i took a step back and intended to wait - but the CHILD, probably 8-10yrs old, actually held out his hand and said 'douzo!' (please). wahhhhhhhhh i was damn impressed with his upbringing!
ohhh and you dont smell cigarrete smoke on the streets.
they dont have the habit of lighting up as they walk but instead would stay in the designated 'smoking area' and walk only after they've finished!
ohh and rubbish bins are quite a scarcity there - you have to walk a long distance before spotting 3 bins (glass, plastic, papers) which means you'll have to hold onto your junk for quite a while but surprisingly, the streets are cleaner than what we have at orchard road!
ooh and because its winter time now, the sky is pitch black by 3pm. so most shops close at 7pm. but the sun rises at 4am i heard!
according to the tour guide, japanese are so driven at work that they're quite stressed out and every monday morning someone will surely commit suicide by jumping onto a railway track!
and their culture of punctuality is awesome - they have
specific arrival timing for trains, bullet trains and even BUSES. and in cases when they're delayed, they'll apologise through public announcement at the respective stations, or even make a public apology on the papers the next day!
and they're really particular abt appearances.
the people dress well, food/products are packaged beautifully, places kept clean.

japan rocks! -- highly recommended holiday destination for ALL. =D
